A woman claimed to have spotted a mysterious “flying cylinder,” possibly a UFO, from her airplane window above LaGuardia Airport in New York City last month.

Michelle Reyes, who was aboard a commercial airline flight on March 25, shared on social media that she captured video footage of a mysterious “flying cylinder” from her plane window.

“The first thing I did was email the FAA to let them know what I saw. Maybe it was a safety hazard, but unfortunately, they didn’t acknowledge my email,” Reyes told US TV broadcaster NewsNation on Wednesday.

Reyes mentioned that another person on the flight witnessed the object and was stunned. “It’s a little nerve-wracking that someone else saw what I saw,” she added.

Reviewing the footage for The New York Post, Thomas Wertman, the state director of the Mutual UFO Network in Ohio, ruled out the object being a news helicopter, drone, or military-operated aircraft.

“The object’s altitude, shape and location — near a major commercial flight path — appears to rule out that it could be a news helicopter, a drone or a military-operated aircraft,” Wertman said.

Additionally, he added that, “Drones aren’t supposed to fly at that altitude at least legally,” he said. “If it were something related to [military] defense or law enforcement, you normally wouldn’t see it so close to a major flight lane.”

The UFO expert mentioned that it could pose a “potential hazard.” Having dedicated years to studying the skies for evidence of interplanetary visitors.

Wertman also found the unusual round shape of the mysterious object “intriguing” because it contradicted the theory of it being a second plane filmed at an odd angle.

“It does not appear to be a commercial aircraft because I don’t see features like wings or a tail,” he stated.

Upon further review, Wertman added that the dark object was travelling at roughly 2,500 feet and was “relatively close” to the plane as it prepared for landing. He noted that the plane Reyes was aboard was approximately 15 minutes away from LaGuardia Airport and was likely traveling at 230 mph when the video was shot.
