ISIS terrorist Jihadi John killed in Syria airstrike, claims US official
The 26-year-old British terrorist Emwazi, was believed to be hit as he left a building in Raqqa, Syria, and entered a vehicle.

Washington: ISIS terrorist Mohammed Emwazi alias Jihadi John, whose brutal executions of American and Western hostages drew world’s attention, was hit by a U.S. air strike Thursday night and is believed to be killed.

According to the U.S. officials, 26-year-old British terrorist Emwazi, was thought to be hit as he left a building in Raqqa, Syria, and entered a vehicle. The official called it a flawless and clean hit with no collateral damage.

"On November 12, U.S. forces conducted an airstrike in Raqqa targeting Emwazi, also known as Jihadi John," Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook said.

"Emwazi, a British citizen, participated in the videos showing the murders of U.S. journalists Steven Sotloff and James Foley, U.S. aid worker Abdul-Rahman Kassig, British aid workers David Haines and Alan Henning, Japanese journalist Kenji Goto, and a number of other hostages," he said while adding that the concern agencies are awaiting final inputs and it will be made public as and when appropriate.

Sources said a drone had targeted a vehicle in which Emwazi was believed to be travelling.
