Much has been discussed regarding the inequality faced by women, but little attention is paid to men in similar situations. However, a recent incident sparked this conversation after a woman tried to force her way between men seated on a crowded metro in Delhi simply because they didn’t offer her a seat. The viral video shows the woman squeezing herself in while teasing the men beside her, seemingly in revenge for not being offered a seat.
The clip, shared on ‘X’, depicted a packed seat with men and children when the woman forcefully inserted herself, saying, “Koi baat nahi, hum bhi besharam ban jayenge (No problem, we’ll also become shameless),” and sat down between the men. While one man beside her was visibly uncomfortable and quickly got up to give her space, the woman stayed close to another man, insisting she would only sit there, citing ‘rules and regulations’ as if to challenge him.
She made some questionable remarks about the men before claiming she was following the rules, even though the carriage didn’t appear to be reserved for women, as many other men were visible in the clip.

The video soon grabbed attention, sparking public comments. “This woke lady asked a boy to get up. When he rightfully refused, she forcibly sat close to him, creating a scene. Last time, I remember, this still counts as an #assault when done by a man,” pointed out one user on ‘X’. “I really don’t like this behaviour of some women …When they pretend that They should be treated with more respect and care than men….Most of the boys offer seats to women on their own and if they don’t it is totally okay,” expressed another.
