Why Travellers Offer Plastic Water Bottles At This ‘Haunted’ Site In Ladakh
The content creator mentioned in the video’s overlay text that the place is haunted.

This world is full of mysteries and wonders. One such wonder was captured by a travel vlogger, who unexpectedly encountered a unique temple-like site, where devotees don’t offer flowers but water bottles. This unique temple is surrounded by a pile of water bottles. The place is situated in Ladakh. Netizens are shocked to know about the existence of such a place. Some called it the wonder of India, while others tried to suggest a replacement of this temple. The video is going viral now. The content creator often travels on his bicycle to different places while capturing it on his camera. Recently, he posted a video of his tour to Ladakh. He set out on the trip from Jaipur to Ladakh by bicycle. In August, last year, he told his fans that he had completed the journey in one month. On the way, he saw a temple which was built between the mountains. Hundreds of water bottles were lying outside this temple. “At first glance, one might feel that maybe people have thrown water bottles here after drinking, or garbage is collected here but this is not the case at all. People come to this place on their own and offer water bottles.” he said in the video. He also mentioned in the video’s overlay text that the place is haunted.

The reason behind this unique practice at this temple is the tragic death of the truck driver. The truck driver reportedly died of thirst near this temple in 1999. Since then, whoever passes by here, offers a water bottle. Akarsh did not offer a water bottle but poured some water on the stone out of respect. He said that some people have also offered tobacco and zarda at the temple.

The viral video has received more than 1 crore views. One of the users said that instead of doing this, it would be better to build something like a water tank there so that no one dies of thirst like this in the future. Another said that this is spreading plastic waste, water should be poured, that would have been better.
