‘We Want To Work For Him’: CEO’s Killer Reply To Man’s Late-Night Party Leave Request Is Boss Goals
The Boss took to LinkedIn to share a screenshot of his interaction with the employee without disclosing their identity.

Ankit Aggarwal, the CEO and founder of Unstop headquartered in Delhi, has become a social media sensation for his response to an employee’s unusual request for “late-night party leave." Aggarwal took to LinkedIn to share a screenshot of his interaction with the employee while safeguarding their identity. He wrote, “This landed in my WhatsApp today morning. Employee asking for a leave because the party and its after party is still on. This openness is critical within a team so that you can trust your team and they are ensured that you will back them. When colleagues feel comfortable being open and honest with each other, it builds a foundation of trust that can lead to better communication, collaboration, and overall success."

The employee’s message from the screenshot read, “Hi Ankit, good morning. After a long time, I want to request you for a late-night party leave. I went to a concert, and the party is still on. Sorry. I will be in the office on Friday. I will speak to all the teams in the afternoon." In response, Mr. Aggarwal replied, “Cool. I hope you had a great concert. Take us as well sometime."

The CEO’s response was widely praised by social media users. A LinkedIn user shared her personal experiences regarding leave policies, expressing appreciation for the CEO’s approach, stating, “This is what I needed to read today. In my past work experience, there were instances where my team and I were honest and gave our manager the true reasons why we needed leave – it could be a weekend getaway, to attend weddings, or just “we’re mentally exhausted, we need a day off to do nothing". We weren’t permitted to take a day off until someone from our family was either hospitalized or dead! I must say, all of us lost a lot of our relatives for us to get leaves."

A bewildered user questioned, “This isn’t real, is it?" to which Mr replied, “Real hai yaar [it is real]."

Another added, “Har kisi ko Boss Apke jaisa nahi hota…[Not everyone’s boss is like you…]"

“Ankit! Openness and trust are the cornerstones of a strong team culture. It’s these moments of lightheartedness that strengthen our bonds and make our work environment more enjoyable." another comment read.

A user quipped “this was awesome", stating, “Wow ! What a boss! I reckon that employee has shown himself or herself worthy of such a break."
