In a shocking discovery, a Rajasthan family found a deadly king cobra inside the washing machine at their residence. A video now going viral shows the venomous five-foot reptile coiled inside the drum, leaving the residents in intense shock. According to an India Today report, the incident took place at Shambhudayal’s home in Swami Vivekanand Nagar in Kota. When Shambhudayal went to wash clothes in the machine, he was left shaken upon seeing the snake.
As seen in the video, the reptile was already in a defensive posture, seemingly ready to launch an attack on the residents. Startled by its sudden movement, Shambhudayal immediately retreated in fear and called a local snake catcher.

Luckily, the snake didn’t cause any harm and was safely rescued. The snake catcher took it away from the residential area and released it into the wild. “The snake, which measured over 5 feet in length, was carefully extracted from the washing machine. After rescuing the cobra, I released it into the Ladpura forest, far from the residential area,” said the snake catcher, as quoted by the outlet.
He also explained that snakes often enter human-inhabited areas in search of prey, especially during the monsoons when their natural regions are waterlogged. It is common to find snakes in homes, shops and even hospitals, he added.
Notably, this is not the first time such an incident has come to light. Several wild creatures, like snakes and crocodiles, come out of water bodies and move amid the busy city roads.
Crocodile, Snake Sightings
After days of heavy rains, the Forest Department team rescued multiple crocodiles on a single day from various places in Kota. Measuring between 7 and 10 feet in length, the crocodiles were captured and later released into the wild.
In a more dangerous encounter, a child from Bihar ended up biting a snake after mistaking it for a toy. The incident took place in Gaya, where the toddler was playing on the terrace of his house. Taking the snake in his hand, the kid accidentally killed it. However, he was completely unharmed, much to the surprise of his family and parents.
According to the local community health centre, the snake was non-venomous and commonly spotted during the rainy season.
