Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has shared an update about his post-surgery recovery on Instagram. While his knee seems to be in a stable condition now, the Meta CEO mentioned, in his caption, that he “looking forward to easing back into training over the coming months.”

Sharing the video, Zuckerberg wrote, “5 months post-surgery. Recovery is going well and starting to get my strength back. Really looking forward to easing back into training over the coming months. Appreciate all the love and support.”

People made a bee-line to the comments section to cheer for him. A user wrote, “Never skip the leg day.” Another added, “Progress. Keep working on the extension though!”

“Zuck got the Thoroughbred legs. Glad to see you progressing back! God is good!” a person said.

In November last year, Zuckerberg went through surgery after he suffered a critical knee injury while training for a mixed martial arts competition. He also shared a picture of himself on a hospital bed, showing his left leg bandaged and in a supportive leg brace.

In his post, Zuckerberg shared that the surgery was needed as he accidentally tore his ACL while sparring.

“Tore my ACL sparring and just got out of surgery to replace it. Grateful for the doctors and team taking care of me. I was training for a competitive MMA fight early next year, but now that’s delayed a bit. Still looking forward to doing it after I recover. Thanks to everyone for the love and support,” he wrote back then.

The ACL, which stands for anterior cruciate ligament, is a strong band of tissue that helps to connect the thigh bone to the shin bone. As he shared the news on Instagram, fans flooded the post with messages wishing for a speedy recovery.

While Mark suffered from the injury while training for MMA, not many would know that he has already been trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, a self-defense martial art. He has won gold and silver medals during high school competitions.
