Trains Running Late Due To Fog Blanket In Delhi-NCR: Passengers Don't Know How To React
On Thursday morning, the Indian Railways released a list of trains that were arriving late in Delhi due to fog.

As the temperature continues to dip, several parts of North India have been engulfed in fog and smog. This has led to low visibility which caused back-to-back delays with several trains. On Thursday morning, the Indian Railways released a list of more than 20 trains that were arriving late in Delhi due to fog. Many passengers took to social media to complain about how Railways’s lack of prior communication about the delays and lack of remedial steps has inconvenienced hundreds of people who have to wait for hours out in the cold at railway stations. Those who have to travel for urgent matters have to arrange expensive alternative transport.

Talking about his train’s 9-hour delay, an X user wrote on Tuesday, “I am travelling from Nagpur-Hyderabad train number 12724 Telangana express -Hyderabad express. Train was supposed to come in the morning at 7.10 AM but arrived at 3.30 PM. I have my night shift at 8 PM but the train is running 9 hrs late, who is responsible for my Loss of pay?”

Another complained, “There’s no justification for this delay except incompetency. Someone must ask Indian railways through rti/parliament questions about the data on how on time / late our nation’s mail, express and super fast trains are running…”

On Wednesday, an X user spoke about how he suffered a loss of Rs 6,000 after he arranged for private transport to reach his destination as his express train was delayed. He wrote, “The train that I have to take at 13:15 at Kanpur arrived 9 hours late. I had to catch Rajdhani at Jhansi at 20:15. So I came to know about the delay at 14:00. I have no other option other than taking ola for 4500 rupees. And tatkal ticket is 1500 total 6000 loss.”

A person sarcastically spoke about his train’s 16-hour late arrival and remarked, “My bua went from delhi to new york faster than I went from delhi to West Bengal (train is 16 hours late).”

Recently, an X user shared a photo of people waiting at the platform for over three hours for the arrival of their train and still not getting any information about the train’s schedule.

He posted, “To AshwiniVaishnaw Train no. 01454, Mangalore to Mumbai was supposed to reach Kundapura station at 9.02pm, but even at around 12 am there’s no clarity about the arrival of the train. People at the station have no clue about the time of arrival. There are small children, old people and female passengers at the station waiting for the train. Why are these passengers taken for granted? No accountability?.”
