One notable post comes from a woman in Delhi who humorously shared her experiences of coping with the summer challenges.

Taking to her X handle, Bhumika, a homoeopathic doctor by profession, shared how the besan laddoos sent by her mother turned into a “cake” due to the extreme heat in Delhi. She shared a picture of the pack, showing all the laddoos in the melted form. “Dear, Besan ke laddoo. Welcome to Delhi ki garmi!” Bhumika wrote.

In subsequent tweets, while noting that the besan laddoo tasted surprisingly good even in its melted state, the woman also posted a screenshot of a conversation with her mother. Her post quickly went viral, eliciting numerous reactions from users. Many shared their humorous perspectives and stories.

A user hilariously described the beloved besan laddoo as ‘halwa’ and wrote, “Besan ke laddu identifying themselves as besan ka halwa.”

Another one called it a “smoothie.”

Joining the conversation, one wrote, “This is not Besan ka ladoo, it’s Besan ka Cake.”

While this incident adds a humorous touch to the challenges of summer, it also highlights the severity of the ongoing heatwave.

Delhi’s Soaring Temperature

On Wednesday, Delhi registered its highest minimum temperature at 35.2 degrees Celsius, the highest in 60 years. Amid the soaring temperatures, pollution levels have also spiked, followed by frequent power outages, water crises and heat-related illnesses. Additionally, cases of heatstroke have increased, prompting authorities to release guidelines for people to safeguard themselves.

Meanwhile, the IMD has predicted some relief from the heatwave over the weekend, stating that the city can experience light rain accompanied by cloudy skies on Saturday and Sunday.
