Many heinous crimes are taking place throughout the world every day. There are several instances of criminals using different methods to commit crimes. Examples of dead bodies found in plastic bags are not rare either. Sometimes it becomes difficult to identify the dead body because of the ferocity of the crime. However, in Arlington, Virginia, near Washington, DC, in America, police found a plastic bag that had pieces of a dead animal on May 31. The officials thought that it was the dead body of a dog.

Later, with the help of a local person, she found out that it was not the dead body of a dog. After an investigation of the carcass, they found out that it was the dead body of a black bear. After the Animal Welfare League of Arlington was involved in the incident, they revealed that it was not a common occurrence.

The carcass of the black bear, stuffed in black plastic, was found by Chelsea Jones. He is the league’s senior communications specialist. Chelsea accompanied the officers to the dead body of the bear. Jones said, “This is a very unusual incident.”. As soon as they found the plastic bag, they began investigating. The black bear was found to be several hundred pounds heavy. The officials initiated a forensic investigation to find out further details of the crime.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington informed that the Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) contacted AWLA around 3:30 p.m. They informed me that a company took on the responsibility of dumping the body of the bear. A company contracted by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) took the responsibility. The bear had been hit on I-66 in Prince William County, from where they took the body. The workers dumped the body of the bear onto the Custis Memorial Trail in Arlington.

Sonia Nayar, who lives near the site, posted on Nexdoor on Friday that she noticed an odour and flies near a trash bag when she was walking with her son and dog. She found the hair and ear of the bear when she went close to the bag. She immediately contacted the health department. According to Sonia, “Bears—we don’t see them here. We knew that there was one roaming around recently, but we didn’t expect that to happen. I mean, to encounter that kind of scene.”

An Animal Welfare League of Arlington spokesperson said that they have not been able to figure out the reason for the death of the bear. He informed me that no evidence of foul play had been found. However, if they find out that the bear was killed illegally, strong action will be taken.
