Most of us adore and enjoy spending time with furry pets. They are our companions and remain faithful to us at all times. The internet is a storehouse of inspiring stories of interaction among people and animals. Some of these videos are extremely endearing, with people taking unexpected steps to help these animals who can’t express their pain. Recently, an act of humanity by a homeless man in Fayetteville, North Carolina, is doing rounds on the internet. He saved a group of puppies after their mother was cruelly hit by a car. Later he took the puppies to the shelter house, leaving them with a message explaining his inability to care for them due to his own circumstances.
The incident, which was originally shared on Facebook, has since spread to other social media platforms. The shelter house shared they discovered a group of puppies on the shelter’s doorstep, along with a note that left everyone in awe. The note came from a homeless man who, despite his own difficulties, took it upon himself to save these innocent lives after their mother, a neighbourhood stray he cared for, passed away.
The note received by the shelter house read, “Please help! I found these puppies sadly after noticing a local stray dog that I would often feed when I could, dead by the road. She had been hit by a car. I knew from feeding her that she had puppies somewhere and after searching where I would usually see her I found them. I’m sorry for leaving them like this but I myself am homeless and cannot afford to care for them. My heart shatters for them and their mother. I just want them to be given the chance their mother, like myself, was never given. Please do not think poorly of me but it felt wrong leaving them alone in the cold waiting on a mother that would not be coming home. Sincerely, nameless man."
The internet users were quite impressed by the kind act. A user said, “I’m in tears. I hope this sweet man is warm tonight. He is an angel on earth and deserves so much more. I hope he also has a guardian angel," while another mentioned, “Aww. This is so touching! I pray for abundant blessings upon his life, the puppies’ lives and the Animal Protection Society."
As per the shelter house, they are too young for adoption but their team would ensure they receive vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and future spay/neuter appointments.
