The blazing heat continues to dominate many regions in India. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued heatwave warnings, asking people to stay cautious. Yesterday, Delhi reportedly hit a temperature of 52.3 degrees Celsius, the highest ever recorded. Other regions, particularly Rajasthan, also saw extreme temperatures. Sirsa in Haryana reported a scorching 50.3 degrees Celsius. However, the respite from the heat came after the national capital received showers in the afternoon.
While the fans, coolers and air conditioners have not provided relief, Indians have found solace in humour.
In response to these intense heatwave reports and news, netizens flocked to social media for comfort. People have been sharing funny memes and jokes to cope with the extreme heat. While the sun may not show mercy, these humorous memes give us a brief escape from the sweltering heat.
In a viral meme, a netizen shared a clip of a road with larger-than-life fans installed in the middle. Like a table fan, the fan swings in both directions to relieve the vehicles in the traffic. “Hai Garamee,” reads the caption of the post.
Another user requested, “Dear Sun, The people of Delhi like Sunny’s side up for breakfast. We don’t want you to make us into Sunny’s side up. Stop laughing & dial down this insane heat.” We surely agree with this person!
