9-year-old Boy With Brain Tumour Becomes IPS Officer For A Day, And The World Is A Happy Place

Many youngsters in India dream of becoming a civil servant. But it’s not always because of job security. There are a lot of people, to whom wearing the khaki uniform or serving the nation is a matter of great pride. Clearing the civil service exams, however, is not an easy task. It demands sheer dedication as sometimes, the aspirants need years of hustle to achieve success in UPSC.

Recently, a nine-year-old boy in Varanasi saw his dream come true, becoming an IPS officer for one day. The kid is suffering from a brain tumour and is undergoing treatment at the Mahamana Cancer Hospital in Uttar Pradesh.

As shared by ADG Zone Varanasi, the boy named Ranveer Bharti dreamt of becoming a civil servant. The administrative department in Uttar Pradesh took up the initiative of letting him become an IPS officer for one day.

The ADG Zone Varanasi shared some pictures on X (formerly Twitter) where Ranveer, dressed in a police uniform, could be seen sitting inside a cabin. He was accompanied by some senior officers of UP Police, who also clicked pictures with him.

A few of them were captured shaking hands with Ranveer seated in a chair. The officers also saluted the boy, showing respect for his honorary rank. At the end of the clip, the police personnel snapped a group photograph with Ranveer.

ADG Zone Varanasi wrote on X, “9-year-old Ranveer Bharti is undergoing treatment for a brain tumour at Mahamana Cancer Hospital, Varanasi. In such a situation, Ranveer expressed his wish to become an IPS officer, so the child’s wish was fulfilled in the office ADG Zone Varanasi.”

The post was able to catch the attention of many users, who praised the department for the heartwarming gesture. One of them quickly admitted, “You won many hearts with this single post.”

Overwhelmed by the initiative, another user commented, “Sir you won my heart. I salute you from my heart.”

A user appreciated the gesture by ADG Zone Varanasi, saying, “Very nice work.”
