Anupamaa is one of the most popular shows on Indian television, and most actors who have been part of the show have noted that it has been a good opportunity for their careers. Vaquar Shaikh will make his comeback on television after years, and he is all set to join the famous show. As per the current track of the show, he will play the younger brother of the restaurant owner. Reportedly, his character will have a significant impact on the storyline.
In conversation with Pinkvilla, Vaquar Shaikh stated that he is pleased to have secured a role in Anupamaa and is looking forward to seeing how the fans react. He is already receiving numerous calls, and people are curious about his role in the initiative. Shedding some light on his role, the actor shared, “Well, I will be playing the character of Yashdeep in the show, who belongs to the USA. He is Yashpal’s younger brother and is staying with her brother and mother. He had an Army background but now has shifted to the USA with his family.” He added that his character will be a strong support for the lead, played by Rupali Ganguly, as she faces new challenges.
However, for an actor to enter the show mid way and sharing screen with some leading actors is a daunting task. Vaquar Shaikh stated that there is some awkwardness as the rest of the team has already developed a good bond among themselves. Although, he mentioned. “I’m new to the show but have been in the industry for a long time, so I have known Rupali for many years, even Sudhanshu Pandey. I know Gaurav Khanna a bit. Also, the Director of the show Romesh Kalra is a good friend of mine; we kind of started our careers together. It was great meeting and reconnecting with them.” He revealed that he was supposed to be part of another show under the same production house but that project did not materise however, this is also a big opportunity.
Vaquar Shaikh expects to give a “fresh perspective” to the show and shared that he will not be affected by any negative criticism that might come his way. Vaquar Shaikh has been part of many TV shows and films over the years but is most recognised for his role as Rashid Ahmad Khan in Qubool Hai.
