On the heels of a brief outage that affected Twitter services yesterday, users are reporting yet another widespread disruption today affecting millions of around the world.
Many users are unable to access the service and are shown an "internal server error" message or displayed the familiar message: "Something is technically wrong. Thanks for noticing—we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon."
Twitter's service has been experiencing several disruptions over the past few months, a previous outage was reported on January 15.
The outage appears to be widespread, with smartphone users receiving the warning: "Tweets aren't loading right now."
"Some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter," a statement on the company's Twitter status site reads.
"We are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution."
A company spokeswoman had no further comment.
A spokesperson for Twitter Europe confirmed the outage, while users in South Africa, Brazil, the Philippines, Nigeria and Uganda also reported problems accessing the site with the hashtag #TwitterDown on Facebook.
Twitter's TweetDeck application was also down.
