Qualcomm to Bring 5G-Equipped Entry-Level Snapdragon 400 Chips in Early 2021
As of now, Qualcomm offers 5G only on the Snapdragon 700 and 800 series processors.

Qualcomm on Thursday announced its plans to accelerate 5G global commercialization at scale by expanding its portfolio of 5G mobile platforms to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4-series in early 2021. The new Snapdragon 4-series is designed to be truly global, supporting the rapid proliferation of 5G, which is already available with more than 80 commercial networks in more than 35 countries, said Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon during the opening keynote at IFA 2020.

The company also launched Qualcomm ‘Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a new technology designed to deliver an improved user experience for earbuds with integrated ANC. Qualcomm Adaptive ANC is designed to enhance user comfort and provide consistent sound quality for true wireless earbuds by adapting its performance to meet variations in how an earbud fits in a user’s ear, and adapt in real-time to changes in fit as the earbuds are in use.

The company also showcased the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G compute platform. The users will benefit from superior performance and multi-day battery life, 5G connectivity, enterprise-grade security and AI acceleration, as well as advanced camera and audio technology,” the Qualcomm CEO said.
