Mountain View, California-based giant Google has released a new update for its Pixel smartphones. The new feature drop for Pixel 3 and newer Google smartphones makes it easier to share audio recordings, additions to make the camera better under water, a new bedtime screen, and new wallpapers that celebrate different cultural moments throughout the year and the upcoming International Women?s Day.
With the new update, the Recorder app on Google Pixel smartphones will be backed up at recorder.google.com, from where they can be shared with anyone anywhere. The site, offers the same transcription and search features included in the app. ?At recorder.google.com, you can hear recordings, see transcripts and even search through files — you get the entire Recorder playback experience in one shareable link,? Google said in a blog post. The new update also allows Pixel users to back up their recordings to their Google Account to help keep them safe and easily access them from any device.
The update also bring better support for an underwater phone housing sold by Kraken Sports. The housing, which costs $325 (roughly Rs 23,800) is a universal accessory that lets users use their smartphone camera underwater. This accessory will now allow Pixel owners to use their own native camera app rather than Kraken?s app, resulting in higher quality underwater photos.
As part of the latest update, Pixel smartphones are also getting new wallpapers that celebrate different cultural moments throughout the year with artwork from artists around the world. For the International Women?s Day on March 8, Pixel smartphones will add new wallpapers illustrated by Spanish duo Cachetejack, focusing on the strength and transformation of women.
There is also a new feature called Smart Compose. This feature uses machine learning to help users complete their sentences as they type. This feature is now available for select messaging apps on Pixel smartphones.
