As the BJP looks set for a hat-trick of wins in Haryana, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday took a veiled dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by saying that people have taught a lesson to those who insult their country on foreign soil.
“Haryana, the land of farmers and soldiers, has taught a lesson to those who go abroad and insult the country for their vote bank,” said Shah, expressing gratitude to the voters for giving a comfortable majority to the BJP in Haryana.
“I express my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Haryana for giving BJP the opportunity to serve the state for the third consecutive time. The BJP government at the Centre and in the state under the leadership of Modiji will fulfil all your aspirations and hopes,” he added.

Shah thanked the people of Jammu and Kashmir for giving BJP the highest percentage of votes and the highest number of seats in the assembly elections in history.
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir have blessed the BJP with the highest percentage of votes in this assembly election and have given the BJP the highest number of seats in its history so far. For this, I express my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Shah wrote in an X post.
Expressing the party’s commitment to the development and security of Jammu and Kashmir, Shah said, “Making Jammu and Kashmir terror-free and developing it like other parts of the country is the top priority of the BJP.”

‘Democracy Revived In Kashmir Valley’
Shah recalled the reign of terror in the Kashmir valley and said that after decades people elected their representatives without any terror and panic.
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir remember the 1987 assembly elections very well when the Congress made a mockery of democracy by openly rigging the elections. Democracy has now been revived in the same Kashmir valley. People elected their representatives without any terror and panic,” said Shah, crediting the progressive transformation of the region to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Political Bigwigs On Assembly Election Results
BJP President and Union Minister JP Nadda credited the party’s success in Haryana to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare policies. He also thanked the voters for electing the BJP government for a third consecutive time.
“This consistent victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Haryana Assembly elections is a reflection of the people’s unwavering faith in the welfare policies implemented by the double-engine government led by the illustrious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji,” he wrote in an X post.
“This mandate shows that the people of Haryana have completely rejected the divisive and appeasement politics of the Congress,” Nadda added.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur took a sharp jibe at the Congress after trends signalled their defeat in Haryana. “The ‘Khata-Khat’ model of Congress has failed,” he said.
“I am very grateful to the people, the hard work of the workers has paid off… It is the policies of the Modi government that are continuously benefiting the BJP from the centre to the state,” the BJP leader added.
Reacting to the poll results of Jammu and Kashmir, Thakur underscored the BJP’s best-ever show in the region. “Overall, if you look at the Jammu region, the BJP performed quite well, there were some shortcomings too, perhaps better results could have come, we will see that,” he said.
