Coimbatore: BJP, which is going it alone in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, would release its final list of candidates by March 16, party's National Executive Member H Raja said on Thursday.
The first list of 100 candidates was expected by Thursday night or Friday, Raja told reporters here after holding discussions with BJP office bearers in the district.
The party's state unit had submitted the list to the Central Election Committee, with three options for each constituency. The final list was expected to be released after the approval of the committee and president Nitin Gadkari, by March 16.
About the possibility of entering into alliance with any political party, Raja said Janata Party headed by Subramanian Swamy has given a wish list of 15 constituencies, which has been sent to the party headquarters for consideration.
Tamil Nadu unit president, Pon Radhakrishnan, Vice president, M R Ramalingam, Subha Nagaraj and Dr Tamil Isai Soundarraj are likely to be in the fray, BJP sources said.
