Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung had recommended to put the national capital under President's Rule.
New Delhi: Days after the AAP dramatically stepped down from power in Delhi, the President has accepted the government's resignation, informed Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Monday.
Addressing the Lok Sabha ahead of Interim Budget speech, Shinde told the House that the Arvind Kejriwal-led government's resignation was accepted by President Pranab Mukherjee.
The President has approved Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung's recommendation to put the national capital under President's Rule.
Jung had recommended President's Rule in Delhi after the BJP, the single largest party in the Assembly elections, refused to stake a claim to form a government in Delhi.
