New Delhi: Proceedings in Parliament continue to be disrupted on the Nandigram issue.
The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till Wednesday and the Lok Sabha till 2 in the afternoon following uproar over the matter.
While opposition NDA wants a Parliamentary debate on Nandigram, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has ruled out any such possibility as it is disallowed to discuss state subjects in Parliament.
Chatterjee even charged the Opposition of deliberately trying to politicise the crisis in Nandigram.
"You are insisting on making this a political issue. You do not want a discussion I am very sorry to say. You are not co-operating with the chair. You do not believe in the question hour. Nobody seems to be concerned with the running of the House. It has become a mockery and I hope the people of this country are looking into this," he said.
This is the second day the Parliament is being disrupted over the issue. The BJP continues to maintain Nandigram is no longer a state issue.
Meanwhile, the main Opposition is looking to make this an opportunity to corner both the CPM as well as the UPA.
