Modi's slogan of maximum governance and minimum government gets positive response

New Delhi: Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's slogan of maximum governance and minimum government is all about taking action.

Hailing the Prime Minister for his strong leadership, he said, "We needed to have a strong and responsible Prime Minister. The countrymen are counting on us. In the last one year, I must have visited all the border areas. All the areas that were never reached."

While taking part in Maximum Governance and Minimum Government discussion at Network18's Modi Sarkar Year One Dialogue, Ambuja Neotia Group Chairman Harshvardhan Neotia said so far the Modi government's performance has been positive. "There has been a lot of expectations from this government. We need to be a little patient to see the actual results."

Former Cabinet Secretary BK Chaturvedi also appreciated Modi government's schemes. "The government's decision on the constitution of the cabinet was good. The three schemes related to infrastructure were pretty good."

Talking about the implementation of schemes on the ground, Rijiju said, "It is not for the government alone to take it forward. Everyone needs to come together. Prime Minister's job is to fuel the people of the nation with hope and confidence. It is the collective responsibility."

Maximum governance and minimum government was one of the most popular slogans of Bharatiya Janata Party's election campaign during 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
