Kolkata: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said a letter from Centre on Saturday ranked the state on top in work under MGNREGA scheme and blamed the BJP leadership for pulling down the state in a "baseless manner".
"Bengal does it again. We are number one in the country in 100-days work on convergence and livelihood augmentation for financial year 2015-16, as per announcement of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. Also among the districts in the country for awards under various categories of 100-days work are our Nadia and Cooch Behar districts. Congratulations and best wishes to all," West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said.
