New Delhi: Former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay has been made the Chairman of Congress Campaign Committee in Jharkhand, where the five-phase Assembly polls are scheduled from November 25.
Besides Sahay, a senior party leader, Ajoy Kumar, a former JVM (P) MP from Jamshedpur, who recently joined Congress, has been made Convenor in the 57-member panel, the party said.
Both Kumar and Sahay are not tribal. PCC Chief Sukhdev Bhagat, CLP leader Rajendra Prasad Singh, former Union Minister Rameshwar Oraon, Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu, Furkan Ansari, Alamgir Alam, Dhiraj Prasad Sahu, Bagun Sumbrai, Tilakdhari Prasad Singh and Manoj Yadav are other members in the committee.
Congress has snapped ties with JMM for the upcoming Assembly polls with which it participated in the Hemant Soren-led government in a grand alliance of three parties, including RJD. Congress will now fight the election in allinace with JD (U) and RJD.
