Sources say Devesh Chandra Thakur quit the party after being denied a Lok Sabha ticket.
New Delhi: Nearly two weeks after he resigned from the post of party spokesperson for the JDU, Bihar Legislative Council member Devesh Chandra Thakur today resigned from the primary membership of the party.
Sources say he quit after being denied a Lok Sabha ticket.
Thakur had served as a minister in the Nitish Kumar government earlier.
His distancing from the party and the Chief Minister follows similar actions by Shivanand Tiwari and bureaucrat-politician NK Singh, both of whom were denied re-nomination to Rajya Sabha.
