ED may file chargesheet against Vyapam kingpin Nitin Mahendra who allegedly received Rs 10 crore bribe
As per sources, the ED has stepped in as the clamour for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the Vyapam scam is growing.

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate is closing in on the big fish involved in the Vyapam scam. According to sources, the ED is likely to file a chargesheet against kingpin Nitin Mahendra who is accused of receiving bribes worth Rs 10 crore in Vyapam case.

As per sources, the ED has stepped in as the clamour for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the Vyapam scam is growing.

While Nitin Mahendra is a system Analyst in the Vyapam, the other masterminds include Pankaj Trivedi - Controller of Exams Vyapam, Vinod Bhandari - MD Shri Aurobindo Institute, Pradeep Raghuvanshi - Shri Aurobindo Institute along with two others Jagdish Sagar and Tarang Sharma.

The ED has also tracked how the money flowed to Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav. Yadav is accused number 10 in the FIR filed in the Vyapam case.

A report by the special investigation team (SIT) claims that Yadav had recommended five names for recruitment as forest guards. The Probe has linked Raj Bhawan staff to the scam. His former officer on special duty (OSD) Dhanraj Yadav was arrested.

The SIT has charged Yadav with conspiracy and under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The SIT chief has said that action will be taken against Yadav after he retires in September 2016. The Governor's son Shailesh, who was also an accused in the case, is among those who died mysteriously.

A chargesheet is also likely to be filed against former Vyapam director Pankaj Trivedi.
