Patna: Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav hit out at Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi during an election rally at Fatua in Bihar on Monday and questioned his understanding of the Indian political system.
"What does Rahul Gandhi know about politics? Somebody wrote on the paper and gave it to you and you read it out. We are an unfortunate country. He should be thrown into the Ganga," said Yadav launching a strong personal attack on the Gandhi-Nehru family
He also blamed the political leader of indulging in dynastic politics.
"Everyone is now involved in dynasty politics. Look at that man with dark glasses from Tamil Nadu. How many people can I pick a fight with now?" he said while referring to DMK supremo M Karunanidhi.
However, his colleague and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar refused to comment on Rahul Gandhi. When asked what he thought of Rahul Gandhi, Nitish replied: "I am talking about the new generation and not about a youth icon. For me any boy born in a normal family is an icon and I think that the new generation is smart and will move ahead. I do not want to talk about an individual."
Rahul Gandhi, who is in Bihar to campaign for Congress candidates, also lashed out at the Nitish Kumar government.
"All the states are developing. It's now Bihar's turn to develop. Centre sends lot of schemes to the state, but unfortunately it does not reach to the people of the state. It reaches to the rich lot but does not reach to the poor. We are here to change that," said Rahul at an election rally in Kuchaikote in Gopalganj district of Bihar.
