New Delhi: The high-profile seat of Greater Kailash will witness a triangular contest in Delhi Assembly elections on February 7 as all three parties have fielded strong candidates from the constituency. The Congress candidate is President Pranab Mukherjee's daughter Sharmistha, BJP is going with former councilor Rakesh Kumar Gullaiya and Aam Aadmi Party its former MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj.

Even though surveys reveal that the Congress will not fare well in the election, Sharmistha Mukherjee is hopeful of coming out victorious. The Congress leadership believes that given her image and being the daughter of the President will definitely help the party.

But a heavy security at her place acts like a barricade between her and the voters as residents in the same colony are unable to meet her.

Even AAP's Saurabh Bhardwaj is no different as after becoming a minister in Arvind Kejriwal Cabinet, he was unable to connect with the people. BJP's Gullaiya is the only one who is believed to be approachable as he is the husband of the current councilor and is often seen in the meeting.

Some pockets in greater Kailash are rooting for the Congress while in other areas the BJP and AAP have their support base.

"The BJP will form the government. AAP should not get a chance as they did nothing except dharna and ran away. The Congress is finished," says Sajni Vaswani, who is senior BJP leader LK Advani's niece and a voter in Greater Kailash.

"The seat will witness a tough fight between the Congress and BJP as the former did development and latter's candidate RK Gullaiya has a good reputation here and very approachable," says another voter.

Meanwhile, a security guard Ram Kishan in the area backed AAP. "The AAP will come back to power. Arvind Kejriwal will become the chief minister. Even in 49 days, he worked for us," says Ram Kishan.

In 2013 elections, Congress came third in the Greater Kailash seat with just 19,641 votes as against AAP's 43,097 votes and BJP's 30,005 votes. But Sharmistha is hopeful that she can turn the tables on her rivals when voters exercise their franchise on February 7.
