Court to hear Yeddyurappa's bail plea today
The Karnataka HC on Thursday granted partial relief to Yeddyurappa in the government land denotification case.

New Delhi: Former Karnataka chief minister BS Yedyurappa's bail hearing is scheduled for Friday. There are six cases against him. He was jailed on October 15 following two complaints.

The Karnataka High Court on Thursday granted partial relief to Yeddyurappa in the government land denotification cases against him. The court granted Yeddyurappa bail in one of the two cases and order on the other land denotification case has been reserved till Friday.

If the former chief minister also gets bail in the second case, he will be out of judicial custody and will walk out of the jail on Friday.

A Lokayukta court extended his judicial custody on Thursday morning. But, within ten minutes the Karnataka High Court granted him bail based on his regular bail plea in one of the two cases. The former Karnataka chief minister spent Diwali in jail after he withdrew his interim bail plea on October 24.

Yeddyurappa was arrested on October 15 after a special Lokayukta court charged him in alleged irregularities in denotifying government land.

However, Yeddyurappa was shifted to a hospital on October 16 citing chest pains. He returned to jail on Wednesday after getting discharged from the hospital on Tuesday only to get admitted in another hospital the very same evening.

There are five cases against Yeddyurappa. However, he is in jail in connection with only two cases.
