Nagma, the Congress candidate from Meerut, had threatened to never return to the city if the incident happened again.
New Delhi: The Congress on Wednesday wrote to the Election Commission seeking adequate protection for its candidate from Meerut, actor Nagma.
The 39-year-old was allegedly manhandled at a rally in Meerut last week. Nagma had just reached the site of the rally when she was surrounded by a mob. In the confusion, a youth allegedly manhandled her and Nagma was seen slapping him.
She later said that if such an incident happens again, she would never return to Meerut.
