Raja is an accused in respect of the alleged distortion, Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said.
New Delhi: Seeking to mollify its key ally DMK, the Congress on Monday dismissed suggestions that it was projecting as "guilty" jailed former Telecom Minister A Raja in the 2G scam.
"When we say that the Telecom Minister at that time is accused and is being prosecuted for further distortion or creation of a problem in the application of the 'First Come, First Served' policy, I have always added that it does not mean that he is convicted," party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told.
"What we are saying is that Raja is an accused in respect of the alleged distortion. That is the fact of life but we are not saying that he is guilty or that we are condemning it," he said.
