Stree 2 star Abhishek Banerjee, who shot to fame as Bhati from TVF Pitchers, has shared how important TVF (The Viral Fever) has been for his career. The production house has gained a reputation for creating relatable and engaging content that resonates with viewers.
In a recent interview, Abhishek praised TVF’s founder, Arunabh Kumar, for his vision in making videos on YouTube when many doubted the platform’s potential. Although he was initially skeptical, Abhishek recognised the channel’s success. He said that every generation has its lucky break, and for them, TVF provided opportunities to work on content that audiences love.
In a chat with IWM Buzz, he said, “I believe that every generation is lucky. We were lucky to have TVF, which allowed us to work and understand that what we create resonates with the audience. This confidence came from TVF. Many other actors are also emerging from TVF and doing big shows, so it’s a huge contribution to a lot of people in the industry right now.”
The Viral Fever was a pioneer of web series in India, with hits like Permanent Roommates, Hostel Daze, TVF Pitchers, and TVF Tripling. Moreover, this year, TVF has dominated with shows like Sapne Vs Everyone, Very Parivarik, Panchayat Season 3, Kota Factory Season 3, Gullak Season 4, and Arranged Couple.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Banerjee is still reeling in the praise for his performance in Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2. In a recent chat, he admitted that he paid PRs to circulate good articles about him but his praise also happened organically as fans loved his performance. He made this admission while talking about the drawbacks of PR activity.
Speaking about the problem of doing PR, Abhishek told iDiva, “Problem yeh hai PR ki ki agar organic news bhi aayegi, toh bhi logo ko lagta hai ki PR hai. Kisi ne accha likh diya tumhare baare main and you’re feeling good and ki organically aaya hai. But then everybody will think, ‘Oh isne PR karaya hai.’ That’s a drawback. It happened to me as well.”
