New Delhi: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chief Murli Manohar Joshi clarified his stand on the Congress' charges against him in the 2G spectrum allocation scam on Thursday. He said that it was Home Minister P Chidamabaram who allowed the scam to happen.
"Chidambaram did not stick to his guns and allowed this to happen and the Congress is now blaming the PAC for the inquiry," Joshi told reporters at a press conference.
He also said that whatever the PAC has said about the 2G scam has been proved, adding that the then finance minister Chidamabaram could have stopped the allocation of spectrum.
"Whatever we have been saying about the 2G scam has been proved. The then finance minister could have stopped the allocation," he said.
"The Prime Minister owes an explanation on how it happened under his vigilance," Joshi added.
He also slammed the government on the rising food inflation saying that they only come up with excuses every time and not a solution.
"Food inflation is sky rocketing, government is only coming up with excuses every time," Joshi said.
