Cash-for-query Case: In 100-page Affidavit, Dehadrai Paints Picture of Mahua Moitra's 'Exchanges' with Hiranandani
Jai Anant Dehadrai's affidavit has details of allegations against TMC leader Mahua Moitra’s exchange of cash and gifts with businessman Darshan Hiranandani, along with renovation plans of her government accommodation

The plot thickens as far as the Mahua Moitra case is concerned. The TMC leader’s former partner Jai Anant Dehadrai, who was the first to complain about her setting the wheels in motion for her expulsion from Parliament, has submitted a 100-page affidavit about their interactions when they were a couple.

The affidavit, which was accessed by News18, also contains details of his allegations that Moitra took cash and expensive gifts as bribe in exchange for sharing her MP login ID to benefit Dubai-based businessman and friend Darshan Hiranandani.

The affidavit also provides plans of her government accommodation, which she has since vacated. Dehadrai has made the point that the house was renovated with money given by Hiranandani. It also gives details about some confidential papers pertaining to the Adani Group.

In the affidavit, Moitra’s former partner has stated that Moitra had given Hiranandani access to senior officials and politicians in West Bengal, so they could be of service to him when needed.

The CBI, which asked Dehadrai to join the probe in the Lokpal-referred corruption complaint agains ther, was interrogated for more than five hour. The central agency asked him questions about Moitra’s other acquaintances.

Moitra is yet to respond to the latest developments. Sources close to her told News18 that the CBI has emailed her a set of questions, which she will respond to in good time. They said the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) did not find any such evidence in her house that could show she had lavishly renovated it.

Dehadrai’s counsel, Pulkit Agarwal, told News18 that the advocate had submitted the affidavit but they cannot comment on it as the matter is sub-judice.
