New Delhi: The BJP core group will meet on Friday at 5.30 pm to decide on the National Council meeting which will ratify Rajnath Singh's election as party chief. This will be the first core group meet after Rajnath's election as party president.
On Thursday, top leaders of the BJP, including Rajnath, met RSS leaders in the capital for the first time after the BJP presidential crisis, which led to Rajnath being made the party chief.
Also present at the meeting were party leaders Sushma Swaraj and LK Advani and RSS leaders Dattatreya Hosbole, Bhaiyyaji Joshi and Suresh Soni to discuss the party's strategy for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
After the meeting, Rajnath Singh clarified that there is no rift with the RSS. "There is no question of any rift with the RSS, we did not discuss BJP leadership issue today," he said.
