BJP alleges Cong plot to put 2G blame on DMK
BJP came out strongly against Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal for challenging the CAG report on 2G scam.

New Delhi: Insisting that the 2G spectrum scam happened with the 'blessings' of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, BJP on Wednesday said Congress is now 'romancing' in public with DMK on the issue but conspiring in private to put all the blame on its ally.

"Congress and DMK are together on the issue of corruption and acted in a pre-planned, well-thought out manner on the 2G scam. Now, in public Congress is romancing with DMK but in private it is conspiring against its ally," BJP spokesperson Jagat (rpt) Jagat Prakash Nadda said.

Elaborating, he said while Home Minister P Chidambaram and Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad met DMK Chief M Karunanidhi to sympathise for Kanimozhi's arrest, behind the scenes the Congress is taking the stand that it has acted against corruption.

"Congress is trying to put all the blame for the 2G scam on DMK, Nadda said.

The BJP stated that it had claimed from the beginning that both Congress and DMK were partners in the 'loot'.We have maintained since the beginning that the 2G scam could not have happened without the blessings the Prime Minister and approval of Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Congress and DMK are two sides of the same coin," Nadda said.

He insisted the two parties were deeply involved in corruption. Referring to the correspondence between Singh and then telecom minister A Raja, Nadda said,

'It shows that there was an unstated consent of the prime minister on the 2G spectrum licences.'

Nadda said later Chidambaram had suggested that the matter (of reported anomalies in 2G spectrum allocation) should be closed.

"We have come to know - and the media should also investigate further - that Chidambaram had also insisted then that the government should go ahead with the first-come-first-serve proposal," he said.

The main Opposition also came out strongly against Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal for challenging the CAG report on 2G scam.

"Kapil Sibal set aside all parliamentary procedures and practices by challenging the CAG report. The scams indicate that Congress is fully involved and is the progenitor of all corruption," Nadda said.
