2G: P Chidambaram mum on court order
A Delhi court on Saturday rejected a plea to make Union Home Minister P Chidambaram an accused in the 2G case.

Tirunelveli: On a day when he got a clean chit from a Delhi court in 2G spectrum case, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Saturday night chose to keep mum on the issue.

Travelling from Delhi after the verdict, Chidambaram went to Tirunelveli to address a public meeting to support early commissioning of the Kudankulam nuclear power project where he made no reference to the court order that came as a huge relief to him and the UPA government.

At the meeting, Chidambaram spoke only about the controversial Indo-Russian nuclear power project, which has run into trouble following continuing protests for the last several months by anti-nuclear agitators and locals demanding its scrapping citing safety concerns.

Earlier in the day, a Delhi court rejected a plea to make Chidambaram an accused in the 2G case holding that he did not indulge in any criminal conspiracy or derived any pecuniary advantage from the decisions taken with former Telecom Minister A Raja.
