After launching its super premium ‘Ultra’ smartwatches for two consecutive years, Apple is reportedly planning to drop the launch of the Watch Ultra 3 in 2024. According to a report, there are no signs of a new Apple Watch Ultra in development within Apple’s supply chain.
As per MacRumors, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the likelihood of Apple Watch Ultra 3 being released in 2024 is decreasing. “If Apple doesn’t officially kick off the Apple Watch Ultra 3 project by December, it’s almost confirmed that we won’t see a new Apple Watch Ultra in 2024,” Kuo said.
If the Apple Watch Ultra is not updated next year, Kuo claims that it is likely because Apple needs more time to develop innovative health management features and address issues related to micro-LED production.
According to leaks, a new Apple Watch Ultra with a larger 2.1-inch micro-LED display is rumored to launch in 2025 or 2026. The prediction comes just over a month after the Apple Watch Ultra 2 was launched.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 is priced at Rs 89,900 in India. It runs watchOS 10, which delivers redesigned apps, the new Smart Stack, new cycling experiences, features to help explore the outdoors, and a new watch face — Modular Ultra.
With all the new advancements, Apple Watch Ultra 2 has the same 36-hour battery life with regular use and up to 72 hours in Low Power Mode.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 is powered by custom Apple silicon in the all-new S9 SiP. It also has a new 4-core Neural Engine that can process machine learning tasks up to twice as fast as the original Apple Watch Ultra.
It comes with a Digital Crown and Taptic Engine — along with gestures like tap, swipe, wrist raise, and cover to mute. With a new double tap gesture, users can easily control the Apple Watch Ultra 2 using just one hand and without touching the display
