PM Modi Wishes New Year To Everyone As India Welcomes 2024 With Global Triumphs
While 2023 concluded with a lot of momentous events, India is looking forward to 2024 which is already set to mark promising events for the nation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday wished everyone a splendid 2024 on X and prayed for prosperity, peace and wonderful health for all.

“Wishing everyone a splendid 2024! May this year bring forth prosperity, peace and wonderful health for all,” he wrote on the micro-blogging site.

President Droupadi Murmu also extended her wishes on New Year on X and wrote, “Warm New Year greetings to all! May the Year 2024 bring happiness, peace and prosperity for everyone. Let us welcome the New Year with a renewed commitment to contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.”

With an end to the eventful year of 2023, India welcomed 2024 with great fervour and joy. The past year proved to be a major milestone for India on both the national and global fronts. From G 20 Summit hosted by the country in the national capital to the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon’s South Pole, the year 2023 brought some significant achievements for India that marked its presence in history.

It is important to note that while 2023 concluded with a lot of momentous events, India is looking forward to 2024 which is already set to mark promising events for the nation, including the inauguration of Ayodhya’s much-awaited Ram Temple on January 22 and the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

This is How India Welcomed New Year

Cities across the country welcomed the new year with lavish celebrations and joy. Goa dazzled with a magnificent display of fireworks, while people in Mumbai gathered at the Gateway of India to welcome 2024.

Meanwhile, celebrations were held at many locations in the national capital. A New Year’s aarti was performed at Jhandewalan Devi Temple, which drew a large crowd. A large crowd was witnessed in places including India Gate, Connaught Place, Lajpat Nagar, Hauz Khas Village, and other prominent places of the city.

A huge number of devotees also gathered at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham on the eve of the new year in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva ahead of the beginning of 2024.

Similarly, Kamarajar Salai in Chennai saw a large turnout and Mall Road in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla was filled with people welcoming the upcoming year.

Notably, Kiribati, an island nation with 33 atolls, was the first place to bid farewell to 2023 and welcome 2024 as the International Date Line loops around its easternmost islands. The International Date Line, established in 1884, plays a crucial role in marking the official start and end of each day worldwide.
