It’s a close contest for the Delhi Durbar with both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) keeping their fingers crossed as votes are counted for the MCD polls. As the Arvind Kejriwal-led party leads the race, the BJP — which held control of the municipal body for 15 years — is in no mood to play second fiddle and is giving a tough fight, diminishing hopes of a clean sweep for the AAP. Four hours into the counting, at 12pm, the AAP was leading on 136 wards of the total 250, while the BJP made strides on 101. The Congress too has opened its account and is leading in nine wards.
