Pakistan’s troubled world cup campaign continues with the resignation of their chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq on Monday following reported allegations of conflict of interest against the batting legend.
As per reports, Inzamam had a stake in player’s management company that handles Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan among others which is a major conflict of interest considering the former captain’s position as the chief of selection committee.

“The committee will submit its report and any recommendations to the PCB Management in an expeditious manner,” it added.
Inzamam had been appointed as the chief selector of Pakistan men’s cricket team in August this year which was also his second stint into the role having earlier served between 2016 and 2019.
According to a report in Dawn.com, Inzamam said he asked PCB to hold enquiry into the allegations
“Later I got a call that they had formed a five-member committee,” Inzamam was quoted as saying by the publication.
“We are cricketers and we are available all the time to serve the country. Since I am facing an inquiry, and as the nature of my job is, I should step down and let them conduct the probe,” he added.
Inzamam has denied any link with the player’s management company though.
“I must tell you very clearly that such companies are recommended by the ICC and PCB has all their data,” he said.
