The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has again requested the BCCI to reschedule the matches it’s been allotted for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
HCA has asked the board to change the date of Pakistan vs New Zealand warmup fixture on September 29 after reportedly being informed by local security agencies of their inability to provide adequate arrangements for the high-profile event.

As per The Indian Express, the security agencies have told HCA they won’t be able to provide adequate measures for the PAK-NZ fixture on account of festivals Ganesh Visarjan and Milad-un-Nabi on September 28.
This is the second time that HCA has requested the BCCI to reconsider dates for the ODI World Cup games it’s scheduled to host.
Earlier, HCA was told by the security agencies that they won’t be able to cover one of the two back-to-back matches to be held at the Rajiv Gandhi international cricket stadium on October 9 (New Zealand vs Netherlands) and October 10 (Pakistan vs Sri Lanka) during the world cup.
Hyderabad Police, as per the reports, has told HCA verbally that it can’t handle both the games considering one of them happens to be a Pakistan fixture which will require elaborate arrangements.
This is the latest issue to have cropped up with regards to the 2023 ODI World Cup schedule which was revealed in June end.
However, a revised schedule was announced after several state units including the Gujarat Cricket Association and Cricket Association of Bengal requested the BCCI to reschedule the dates citing clashes with festivals.
Consequently, nine matches were rearranged including the blockbuster India vs Pakistan showdown on October 15 in Ahmedabad which was advanced by a day.
Reportedly, the HCA is unhappy at the absence of a proper communication from the BCCI claiming they haven’t got any official letter stating the change in schedule from the board.
Despite their earlier request, BCCI and ICC announced the sale of tickets including for the warmup matches without making any changes.
The world cup starts from October 5 in Ahmedabad when defending champions England take on New Zealand.
