According to reports, Darshan has been behind bars since June 11. Recently, he demanded home-cooked food during his stay in jail. This is mainly because the Kannada actor claims that the prison food is causing severe health issues, including weight loss and diarrhoea, which have been diagnosed as food poisoning by prison doctors.
As per Section 30 of the Karnataka Prisons Act, 1963, undertrial prisoners are entitled to receive proper food, clothing and other necessities, subject to examination by prison authorities. His requests for the home-cooked food have been denied by the prison officers, who argued that they needed a court order.
