G20: PM Modi to Meet Delhi Cops Over Dinner to Recognise Their Efforts Towards Summit’s Success

After the successful conduct of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to host a dinner for all the Delhi Police officials who were on duty and ensured proper security at the venue. The dinner is likely to take place this week and the police department is preparing the list of all the invitees.

According to media reports, the Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has sought a list of police personnel- from constables to inspectors rank, who were on duty during the summit and have performed well.

A list of over 400 police personnel will be prepared for the dinner who will join the prime minister along with the Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora. The dinner night is likely to be conducted at Bharat Mandapam, which was the venue of the G20 Summit.

As per reports, the police department has been asked to include names of all those officials who performed their duties despite some personal or family issues or hardships and made the G20 Summit a fail-proof event.

Earlier this week, Sanjay Arora also awarded the Commissioner of Police’s special commendation disc and certificate to some Delhi Police personnel for their contribution to the G20 Summit.

According to the order, which was issued on Monday, the Delhi Police Commissioner felicitated the personnel for the flawless execution of the G-20 Summit arrangements.

“The smooth, professional and precise execution of the colossal G20 arrangement, which saw participation, commitment and contribution from the entire rank and file of Delhi Police, was made possible only by the shared sense of pride and ownership in the overall objectives of the mega arrangement by every participant.

G20 Summit Security

The two-day G20 summit was held on Saturday and Sunday and was attended by more than 30 heads of state and top officials from the European Union, delegates from guest countries, and 14 heads of international organisations.

During the period, the national capital, especially the New Delhi district, was under heavy security cover.

The Pragati Maidan area in central Delhi, where the summit took place, was enveloped in a multi-layered security cover to ensure the safety of all attendees and smooth proceedings.
