The University of Delhi (DU) will hold the semester-I exams for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as professional programmes of all streams including NCWEB and third-semester exams for its students from March 15. Despite facing glitches in OBE December 2020 exams, the varsity will hold the March 2021 exams too in OBE (open book exam) mode where students have the flexibility of attempting exams from their own place of convenience. As per reports, about 2.5 lakh candidates are expected to take the exams.
Repeaters for the semester I and III as well as improvement cases and ex-students of the school of open learning are also eligible to attempt these exams along with the semester one student.
The duration of exam will be four hours, of which three hours will be given to students for answering questions, and the remaining one hour will be utilized for downloading question paper, scanning the answer sheet in PDF format ad uploading the scanned answer sheet on the portal. The duration of exams will be for six hours for PwD candidates, as per varsity rules.
Students will have to write answers only on A4 size papers and mark page numbers on top of each page. On the first page of the exam, students need to write their details including – date and time of the exam, exam roll number, name of programme, semester, unique paper code, the title of the paper, name of college/institute, email id of students, and mobile number of student.
In case of poor internet connectivity or technical glitches or any other unforeseen circumstances, students will be given extra time of one hour. Students, however, will also have to submit documentary evidence supporting their claim. All such cases will be examined by the review committee.
A system-generated acknowledgment will be sent to students’ registered email after the submission of answer sheets. In case of any error or glitch during the exam, or a student is not able to submit his or her answer sheets, they need to get in touch with the concerned authorities.
