The influencer issued a public apology in her latest post to both commuters and the railway police.

In recent years, social media content creators have faced criticism for their disruptive behaviour in public spaces, for showcasing dancing moves and creating reels based on movie scene. Recently, an influencer named Seema Kanojiya, found herself at the center of attention, after her clip featuring her performing a dance at Mumbai’s CSMT railway platform, caused inconvenience to fellow commuters. Soon after the video went viral, a social media page filed a complaint against her, prompting swift attention from railway authorities. In response, Seema issued a public apology in her latest post to both commuters and the railway police. She even urged fellow creators to refrain from doing similar actions.

In the video, she said, “CST mein maine video banaya tha jo bohot zyada viral hua tha, 70-80 milllion gayi thi, jo apradh tha, jo maine platform pe video banaya tha. Aur jitne bhi YouTuber aur Instagrammer hain, woh video na banaye aisi aur jitne bhi yatri hain unse main dhanyawad kehna chahungi aur maafi maangna chahungi. (I had made a video at CST which became very viral, it had reached 70-80 million views and it was an offense, which I had made the video on the platform. All the YouTubers and Instagrammers, they should not make such videos and I would like to thank all the passengers and apologize to them).” In addition to the video, Seema also attached a written apology in the same post which she submitted to the police.

Soon after her apology post went viral, some users made fun of her, while a segment of social media users appreciated the quick action taken by the authorities in response to Seema Kanojiya’s dance video.

A user wrote, “Sir Please isko pakad kar rakho, Bahar mat aaney do. (Sir, please catch her and do not let her come out).”

Another shared, “Aa gaya swad is ladki ko. (The girl has got the taste of her own medicine).”

“Well, good to see RPFs still look into other cases as well,” a comment read.

One more wrote, “Thank you Mumbai Police for taking action against her and continue to do so against all those who do this further.”

In the original dance video, Seema Kanojiya can be seen jumping out of the train and performing a vulger dance on the railway platform, without caring about the presence and inconvenience caused to other passengers. Following this incident, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) had previously issued a warning and advised individuals to not perform such activities. They provided education about the legal consequences of such actions, highlighting sections 152 and 153 of the Railway Act.

Under these sections, engaging in actions that cause harm or attempt to harm fellow passengers is considered a punishable offense. Offenders may face penalties and imprisonment of up to 10 years.
