Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal’s official wedding festivities have started and are currently in full swing. The pair held their phool haldi, Mehendi, and sangeet ceremony on Thursday at Richa’s friend’s expansive lawn in Delhi. Richa and her cousin brothers sang “The Chadha’s Gang song," a tune from their childhood. Then Ali Fazal spontaneously started dancing to the Khalnayak song in honour of his favourite actor, Sanjay Dutt.
Ali is a huge Sanjay Dutt fan, and the guests found it amusing to see him imitate the Khalnayak actor. Richa’s college friend was also seen dancing to one of her favourite songs. The couple danced to Ambarsariya from Fukrey, among other Bollywood numbers. Both the bride and groom had Mehendi applied to their hands. The initials AR (Ali-Richa) were etched in the centre of Richa’s hands during the Mehendi ceremony.

The cocktails and mocktails served during the event were given character names to fit the couple’s distinct personalities. Popular beverages included Nagma Khatoon Ka Mohan Masala Nimbu – Wasseypur Se, Guddu Bhaiyya Ki Paan Gulabo Mirzapurwali, Bobby Jasoos Ka Banta Jaljeera – Tasavur Kijiye.
On Friday, the cocktail party and reception were held in Delhi. It is also reported that before the couple heads to Mumbai for the wedding, Ali’s grandmother will organise a private dinner for the family in Lucknow. Instead of a 5-star hotel, the couple will host their wedding reception at a 176-year-old mill in Mumbai.
Recent revelations from Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal indicate that two years ago they formalised their union. The couple is now celebtaring it with friends and family. The couple has posted the first pictures from the wedding festivities. They look incredibly in love in the photos. Richa Chadha looks gorgeous in an ensemble designed especially for her by Rahul Mishra, and Ali Fazal looks sharp in an angrakha by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
The couple has been dating since 2015. In 2017, Ali Fazal posted a selfie with Richa Chadha on Instagram with the caption, “Hai toh hai." Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal appeared in Fukrey and its second instalment Fukrey Returns. They also made brief appearances in Call My Agent: Bollywood on Netflix.
