Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s latest directorial venture, Lal Salaam, debuted in cinemas worldwide today, February 9. The film features Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in leading roles and is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner of Lyca Productions. Drawing attention to the movie is the extended cameo of superstar Rajinikanth, portraying the character Moideen Bhai. As audiences flock to theatres, numerous clips have surfaced online showing enthusiastic fans celebrating outside Chennai’s Rohini Silver Screens, quickly becoming viral sensations.

The spotlight is on a remarkable 50-foot-tall Rajinikanth cutout erected at the entrance of Chennai’s Rohini Theater, capturing attention across the entertainment sphere. A spectacular garland of two and a half tons of flowers, valued at approximately Rs 2.5 lakh, was transported from Bengaluru to Chennai for the occasion. Using a crane, the colossal cutout of Rajinikanth was installed at the Rohini Theater gate, marking a significant gesture from the actor’s Karnataka fanbase, traditionally known for grand celebrations in Bengaluru. Footage of this monumental event is circulating on the internet, depicting Thalaivar enthusiasts chanting fervently in front of the towering Rajinikanth cutout, holding a fire-lit coconut as a symbolic tribute.

This fervour surrounding Lal Salaam highlights Rajinikanth’s enduring popularity and the anticipation for his upcoming projects, cementing his status as a beloved icon in Indian cinema.

Lal Salaam marks Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s third directorial venture. In 2023, Rajinikanth achieved unparalleled success with the blockbuster hit Jailer, helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar and featuring music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Currently, the actor is engrossed in his upcoming project, Vettaiyan, written and directed by TJ Gnanavel. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film stars Rajinikanth alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Duggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles, slated for release later this year.
