Financial hurdles have caused delays in the construction of the new Nadigar Sangam building. In a recent update, Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin stepped in to address the issue by donating Rs 1 crore towards completing the remaining work. Nassar, Vishal, Karthi, Karunas and other Nadigar Sangam members expressed their gratitude as they accepted his generous contribution from him.
Actor Nassar, who heads the Nadigar Sangam, initiated the construction of a new building in Chennai a few years ago. Unfortunately, the project faced financial hurdles and came to a halt. As the Sangam prepared for a major fundraising event, actor, producer and minister Udhayanidhi Stalin stepped in to support.
Today, Udhayanidhi contributed Rs 1 crore to the association’s administrators. According to a report in May 2022, one source indicated that 40% of the work remains unfinished and an additional Rs 30 crore is required to complete it.
Sharing a post on Twitter, Vishal wrote, “Dear Udhaya, I sincerely thank u as a friend, producer, actor and now sports minister of Tamil Nadu govt for your contribution to our South Indian artistes association building efforts and your willingness to finish it as early as possible and also coming forward to help in any way through the government also. Indeed a lovely gesture. God Bless”.

In 2010, the Nadigar Sangam, a group of actors, announced plans to demolish its current building in T Nagar, Chennai and build a new one. That same year, Radha Ravi leased the land to R Sarathkumar for a long period. The land was valued at Rs 150 crore back then.
On the professional front, Nassar shot to fame with films like Fair Game, Anniyan, Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The actor was last seen in Captain Miller. Nassar has a few films in the pipeline including Raja Bheema, Thug Life, Train, Gangs of Godavari, Thiru Manikkam and Sathuranga Vettai 2 to name a few.
Meanwhile, Stalin made his acting debut with Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. Since then, he has starred in several movies including Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal, Nannbenda, Manithan, Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen and Ippadai Vellum. Besides acting, Stalin also represents the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency as a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
