The Vampire Diaries Actress Nina Dobrev Shares What Happened After The Dirt Bike Accident

Actress Nina Dobrev suffered a tragic dirt bike accident last month which left her hospitalised. Following the incident, the Vampire Diaries star underwent surgery. Now, she is in the recovery stage with a noticeable leg brace. Nina, who has been keepings sharing health updates on Instagram, has opened up about what followed after the e-bike accident. The actress even shared the injuries she sustained after the same.

Nina Dobrev conducted an ‘Ask me anything’ session on Instagram. When a fan wanted to know, “What actually happened to your leg? Was it a tear or a break?” the 35-year-old star responded with a snap of her bandaged leg as she spoke to a doctor. Along with the picture, she wrote, “Both. Completely tore off my ACL, tore through my meniscus, and fractured my tibial plateau”.

In her next post, Nina Dobrev also gave a shout-out to her surgeon for his incredible job. The Perks of Being a Wallflower actress added, “Shout out to my surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache who not only fixed me up but has been incredible post op checking on me and making sure I’m rehabbing correctly”.

Replying to a fan who asked if she could fully bend her knee, Nina Dobrev said, “I’m working my up to 120 degrees bend. I mostly do physical therapy, every day for 3 hours and then a few more hours at home. I just started doing upper body workouts (mostly for my mental health).”

Nina Dobrev has also acknowledged her fans’ “kind messages, thoughts, prayers, and good vibes.” In an Instagram post, she thanked them for pouring in their support and positive energy amid her recovery journey.

She said, “Surgery was a success. Thank you to everyone who has been sending kind messages, thoughts, prayers, and good vibes. I have been feeling the support and positive energy. It means more than you will ever know.”
